Library Services During Temporary Closure
The physical location of the library is unfortunately closed until 20 October due to construction work on the ceilings and floors.
Borrowing
Before the library reopens on 20 October, we are able to offer loans of a limited selection of books. We currently only have access to the books located on the first floor (call numbers 000-699) and the closed stacks.
Students and staff can visit the pop-up service desk outside the library to borrow books. We are open daily from 12:00 to 14:00, from 8 to 19 October. Please bring your student ID or staff card (max. 3 loans per person).
At the moment, we only have the capacity to provide loans to those who visit in person. On 21 October, we will reopen our request and reservation services.
Reading List Books (Pensum)
In Volda you can buy books from your course reading lists at the Norli bookstore, as well as various online bookstores.
At Allvit you can rent or buy a number of Norwegian language books from reading lists in e-book format. Once the library reopens in October, we will have reading list titles and other books available for loan.

Book Returns
We have book return boxes outside the library and at Studentsørvis (Student Services). If you are a distance-learning student, you can ask your nearest library whether they can send the books back to us on your behalf.
Digital Books and Journal Articles
Even when it isn't possible to borrow physical books, we still have many e-books and online journal articles available.
These can be found by searching in our online catalogue Oria.
Student Theses
These are freely available in the Norwegian Research Information Repository (NVA). An overview of bachelor's and master's theses arranged by subject (with links to NVA) can be found here:

Group Rooms and Study Spaces
Group rooms and study spaces in the library are not available during this period. In Mazemap, you can find an overview of group rooms and study spaces/study areas elsewhere on campus (select different floors in the menu on the right). There are also more study spaces in the Berte Kanutte building on the 2nd floor up the stairs from the cafeteria.
