Academic Search Elite
Interdisciplinary full text database with access to approximately 2000 journals, both scholarly and general.

JSTOR
Archive of international scientific journals in full text, mainly within humanities and social sciences. The database usually does not cover the last 3-5 years of a journal.

SAGE Premier
Full-text journals in many diverse fields of study including sociology, media, education and criminology.

Google Scholar
Search for books, journal articles, reports and other academic publications. Cited reference search.

Web of Science
Provides references to over 10,000 different journals on social sciences, humanities, technology, etc. Contains information about how many times an article have been cited. Links to full text if the library has access.

The Newspaper database of the National Library

In the newspaper database of the National Library’s online library, you will find a large collection of digitised newspapers from both recent and older periods. Local newspapers are also included. The collection contains newspapers dating all the way back to the 18th century. Some newspaper issues are openly available to everyone, while access to the rest can be requested. The requirement is that use is related to research or documentation purposes.

Film

Filmbib

Database for streaming films from the Norwegian Film Institute. Contains short films and documentaries that are copyright-cleared for classroom teaching and private use. You need a national library card to use the service.

Filmoteket

A service that makes it easy for you to borrow and watch movies from home. You need a national library card. In addition, your public library must have an agreement with Filmoteket. Volda public library and Hornindal library have an agreement. List of other libraries that have an agreement.
