Visit from Beijing Politics College, China
Monday, 21st June, Volda University College received a special visit from China. A delegation formed by six members from Beijing Youth Politics College, among whom the president of the college herself, Mrs. Liang Luqi, had a “first contact” meeting with representatives of VUC.
The Chinese delegation (President - Mrs. Liang Luqi, dean of English Department - Mrs. Lao Qing, president assistant - Mr. Pu Weizhong, Director of Beijing Oriental Morality Institute – Mr. Wang Xinhong, Director of the Administration Committee of East Campus – Mr. Jin Sheng and Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office – Mr. Hu Jun) was met by representatives from the International office (International Officer ms. Iulia Beleuta and trainee ms. Bianca Alexe), The Faculty of Media and Journalism (international coordinator mr. Thomas Lewe) and the Faculty of Humanities and Education (international coordinator mr. Birger Løvlie and prof. Arne Redse).
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a first contact, and to exchange information about the two institutions. VUC offered the guests a detailed presentation about the college, the student international community, various programs and study offers.
During the two hours and a half meeting, the guests had the chance to ask for details regarding courses at VUC and to find similarities when it comes to things such as grading systems or teaching procedures.
After the round table discussions reached the proposed goals, we moved the focus on a traditional svele and coffee snack and a tour of Berte Kanutte. The Chinese delegation left Volda the same day, continuing their study trip trough Norway.
