Exchange students in the autumn semester 2013 have an excellent opportunity of getting insight into the Norwegian society and its welfare, as well as other welfare states outside Scandinavia. The course consists of three main parts and will give participants 15 ects upon completion, as well as a full overview on the Norwegian society, economy and politics.

As of today, students interested in nature, tourism, outdoor life, marketing and branding tourist destinations, can read about the new course Nature First Tourism, on its own website. Previous students in the course World Heritage – Geiranger, have shared their experiences trough blogs, which can be accessed via the new website.

Future exchange students at Volda University College have the chance to sign up again for the World Heritage Experience course, under the umbrella of the Faculty of Arts and Physical Education. The class has gone through major transformations, and comprises of two modules for autumn semester 2012.

Norwegian- Indian singer Samsaya made the canteen dance, exotic food smells filled Berte Kanutte, and students and guests gathered around colourful stands at yesterday's International Day. Have a look at some pictures from the day.

With only one day left before International Day 2012, preparations are in full swing. International students on campus are ready to present their countries and home institutions at the stands; guests are on their way to Volda and the canteen in Berte Kanutte has been decorated for the special day.

Norwegian-Indian pop singer Samsaya is coming to Volda for International Day, February 15th. During the annual event, she will give a mini concert on stage in Berte Kanutte. Samsaya was born in India, raised in Norway and has had broad international experience. Her new single “Breaking Bad” will be released today, February 3rd.

From the 9th to the 15th of January 2012, STiV (student parliament), in collaboration with Pangaia and the International Office, organized a welcoming week for 39 new Erasmus student. The idea behind the entire event was to offer the new students a warm welcome and a good first impression of their new study place.

The article entitled ''Volda is the place you will never forget'' is now accessible in Polish. A group of students from Poland, from our partner university Krosno State College, have worked on it as part of their translation course and found it a challenging, but satisfying way of testing their translation skills. We are thankful and look forward to hosting more students from Poland. Dziękujemy i życzymy Wam sukcesów.

“I really recommend this course,” says a happy Olga Ryparova. The course, Religion in Norway, was offered this autumn to Erasmus and Norwegian students. One of the things that made the class so interesting, explains Ryparova, was the fact that the students enrolled in the class came from so many different backgrounds.
